This was the first phase of our church growth. Our goal was to raise $50,000 towards paving the parking lot and updating our church sign. We reached our goal and the parking lot is paved and we have a new church sign lighting up Sandy Ridge Rd at night.. Thanks to everyone that made this possible.
We believe the "Paving the Way to the Cross" is a great metaphor of what is to come at Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church. It is only when we take up our cross and follow Christ - practice "radical hospitality, passionate worship, intentional faith development, risk taking mission/service, and extravagant generosity" - that we are going to fully understand what it means to be radical disciples of Jesus Christ. (UM Bishop R. Schnase, Five Fruitful Practices). When we become enlightened about what it means to be a vital church, this contagious light will shine on others in our community.
